The Oscars is an annual American cinematography awards ceremony which consists
on various categories such as: best directing, best costume design, best
leading actor/actress and many more. The winners are awarded a copy of a
statue, the Oscar.
The first presentation was held on May 16th,
1929 and awarded fifteen people from the film making industry. The ceremony was
held at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel and ran for 15 minutes.
The ceremony is live televised usually in
late February or early March but the Academy is contemplating to move it back
into January.
